Charalkunnu is a prominent hill station near Ranni in Pathanamthitta facilitates a panoramic view of the surrounding valleys. The district headquarters of Pathanamthitta, is located 17 km to the south-east whereas, Kozhencherry is located 5 km away.

Kumbhavuruthy is a famous scenic waterfall situated in close proximity to Charalkunnu. It is at a distance of 11kms from Pathanamthitta is located in the deep forests of Konni. The musical voice of the cascading water from the waterfall and the scenic beauty around draws a large number of people to its vicinity. Adventurous activities such as trekking and camping can be experienced nearby the area of this fall.

Perumthenaruvi is the second most prominent waterfalls that adds to the beauty of the Charalkunnu hills. The meaning of the term Perumthenaruvi is the “Honey River” flows by and the banks of this river is one of the most favorite tourist and picnic spot. The river got its name as there are number of beehives around the falls. The water falls from a height of 60 to 100 feet, finally gushing in to the river, leaves us with an awesome enthralling view.
