
Annavaram is renowned for the vaishnavite temple devoted to Veera Venkata SatyanarayanaSwamy, an avatar of Vishnu. It is located on the Ratnagiri Hills, Annavaram. The land is belong to both Lord Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swami Temple and Goddess AnantalaxmiSatyavathiAmmavaru.
History
A small hut was built in 1891 when the statue was found. Well along a temple was constructed in with the support of villagers and other disciples of the neighbouring villages. Consequently the temple was rebuilt during 1933-34 and 2011-2012.
The main temple is built in the form of a chariot with the four wheels at each corner. A kalyanamantapa was built in front of the main temple and decorated with modern architecture. Ramalaya and the graves of VanaDurga Deviare held in great admiration, in the way down. Devi can be worshipped even in the nights, going about the divinevicinitieseternallysafeguarding the Lord’s premises.
The main temple was built on the hill with the attractive and detached view of Bay of Bengal (11 miles) on one side and the row of Eastern Ghats on the other side. The green fields all-round the hills and the Pampa River are encircling Ratnagiri.
