The ancient temple of Lord Veereswara Swamy and Goddess Bhadrakali is located in this Muramalla village. The people believe that if an unmarried person visits the temple just for once then he or she will get a appropriate proposal for marriage at the earliest. In the same way, the childless couples pray at this temple then they can also be blessed with children.
History
Lord Brahma confronted a yajna (Vedic rite of fire sacrifice) to delight Shakti and Shiva. Goddess Shakti egressed, breaking from Shiva and served Brahma in the creation of the universe. Brahma concluded to give back Shakti to Shiva. So his son Daksha performed many yagnas to get Shakti as his daughter. Sati, his daughter was brought into this world to got married Shiva.
Lord Shiva cursed Brahma and cut off his fifth head due to his lie to lord Shiva. Hence Daksha hated Lord Shiva and concluded not to let Shiva and Sati get married. But Sati got attracted to Shiva and married.
Daksha performed a yagna to take revenge on Lord Shiva near munimandala present Muramalla andhra pradesh. Daksha invited all the divinities to the yajna except Lord Shiva and Sati. But Sati expressed her desire to attend the yagna. Lord Shiva tried his best to detered her from going. Finally Sati went to the yagna. But being an uninvited guest, she was not respected at the yagna. Sati was not able to bear her father’s insults toward her husband, so she sacrificed herself.
Shiva got angered and in Virabhadra avatar destroyed Daksha’s yagna, cut off his head. Later replaced the head with a male goat and restored him to life.Virabhadra didn’t stop fighting he kept raging with furious anger. Still engrossed in sorrow, Shiva picked up the remains of Sati’s body, and performed the Tandava, the celestial dance of destruction, across all creation. The other Gods requested Vishnu to stop this destruction. Towards this Vishnu used the Sudarshana Chakra and cut through the Sati’s corpse. The various parts of her body fell at various spots all through the Indian subcontinent and formed sites which are recognized as Shakti Peethas today.
